Time for new kid on the block, Liquorice Fennel & Mint *Tea to be properly welcomed to the TeaShed recipe collection! This smoothie is made using yummy blackberries, blueberries and blackcurrants and is flavoured with our Liquorice *Tea. This tea has the fresh flavour of mint and fennel blended with a sweet liquorice aftertaste which won’t have you reaching for the biscuit jar. Especially in January when we’re all trying to be ‘good’ it’s nice to have a tasty pick me up without it containing mountains of refined sugars. Guilt-free sweet treats, that’s what we like!
Blackberries, known as brambles in my house, definitely remind me of winters when I was younger. These berries are in season around October time so autumn walks were often coupled with bramble picking along country lanes, and of course some snacking along the way. It’s a good idea to wash and freeze them after picking so you can keep some for when the brambles go out of season. This also makes them perfect for adding to smoothies or ice cream.
For 1 serving:
1/2 cup ice cold Liquorice Tea
A splash of almond milk
A handful of frozen blackberries
A handful of frozen blackcurrants
A handful of fresh blueberries
1 tbsp honey
3 tbsp greek yoghurt
A nice simple recipe for you all today. Brew half a cup of Liquorice tea and leave to cool. Then add all the ingredients to a blender and whizz, whizz, whizz! Save a few frozen blackberries to garnish the top of the smoothie, et voila!
