So my biggest weakness is sugary breakfast. When you wake up at 6.30am and you are so tired the first thing that comes to mind is caffeine and sugar. Now there is no way I am going to live without caffeine… *ha could you imagine!*, but sugar is definitely something I can try to.
I have been getting really into my morning green tea smoothies which are fab, but I need something a little more substantial to get me through the morning of running around, which is why this chai chia breakfast is perfect!
Make this the night before and then you have no excuses that you don’t have time in the morning. You can even carry it with you to work and drink it like a very thick soup!
1/2 cup Chai Tea (Baby its cold outside) – full of antioxidants
3 tbls Chia seeds – full of protein
Squeeze of honey – natural sweetness
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder – keeps your sugar levels steady
1/4 cup soya milk – if you’re cutting out dairy
1/4 cup coconut water – full of electrolytes & potassium
Put the chai tea, soya milk, coconut water, vanilla, honey and cinnamon into a blender or your Nutribullet. Blend all that goodness together. Then stir in your chia seeds and leave in your fridge overnight. Simples!
